Today’s harvest of parsley from the CSN Cheyenne Garden of Project AngelFaces was plentiful and sweet! Looking forward to a great semester with the scholars and students of College of Southern Nevada. The living soil in the gardens there is getting really exciting!!

Check back to the calendar often to see when you can join us, next!

Greetings Angels! Join us for a Peach harvest tomorrow, 8 June, 8:30 am in the far Northwest in the area of Horse Dr. and Jones, near the UNCE Master Gardener Orchard.

Harvesting is fun, easy exercise and a great way to spend the morning with friends! Volunteering feels good, and this opportunity helps feed vulnerable elders and youth, too! Carpool is available from the Henderson area, so let me know if you want or need a ride! I’ll be leaving for pickups starting at 7:30 am. We will wrap the harvest by Noon at the latest, and we will be making deliveries on the way back to Henderson.

Bring your friends! Bring your water bottle, long sleeves, pants, closed toe shoes, hat, bandanna/handercheif, and sunscreen. Bring a bag to take some of the harvest home with you~~we share with our volunteers, first!!

Please let me know to expect you, and follow this link

Calling All Angels! Project AngelFaces is in dire need of volunteers for us at the Farms to Families Fair, May 5 and 6, hosted by the Springs Preserve. This is a big, big event, and we need committed, dedicated support from 15-20 volunteers, please!

Please step up to help us out, Angels! The hours of the event are Saturday, and Sunday, May 5 & 6, from 10 am -4 pm, with load in on Saturday at 8 am. and load out on Sunday at 6 pm. Teams of 3-6 people in shifts from 9 am- noon, 11 am-2 pm, and 1 pm-4 pm are needed. The event is located at the Springs Preserve.

This is an amazing opportunity for Project AngelFaces to really get the word out to the community about our work, and gain much needed support. We cannot do this event without you, so please let me hear from you today!

This is a great opportunity for community groups (PTK, UNLV, yogis!), to have fun hanging out with friends while helping out a great cause. Please help us make this event successful, Angels. Call me today with your commitment to volunteer at this event.

Event CANCELLED – Friday, March 23, 2012 from 10a to noon

We’re sorry to announce that the event tomorrow at CSN must be cancelled. Sorry for the late notice and thank you for your continued support and understanding.

On a lighter note, it’s a BENEFIT!!

Tuesday, March 27 from 5p to 7p

Please join us at Leticia’s Cantina at 7585 Norman Rockwell Lane #1, Las Vegas, NV 89143 from 5p to 7p to raise awareness and money for PAF! It’s across from Albertson’s on Farm Rd. near Durango.

On Tuesday, March 27th, from 5-7 pm., come to our cocktail party and help us raise funds to plant the orchard for the New Vista Garden of Project AngelFaces! Come for the live music, the amazing food, the margaritas, and the community! Come for the raffle prizes, stay for the friends and the fun!

Tickets are $20.00 in advance, and $25.00 at the door. Advanced tickets can be purchased by visiting info@centennialhillsrotary.org, or by clicking donate at www.projectangelfaces.org, and specify 3.27NVG.

Let’s make the most of this sweet fun, and raise enough to plant the rest of the garden while we’re at it! All funds raised at this event will support this specific Community Support Program of Project AngelFaces, which benefits New Vista, the members of their community at the Ranch, and future generations of those supported by New Vista. Help us make this garden a magical, wonder-filled place where Project AngelFaces is helping others grow so much more than food. We will see you there!

Potential Event… Need Volunteers!

Saturday, May 5 from 10a to 6p and Sunday, May 6 from 10a to 6p

PAF would love to participate in the Farm to Family Festival at Springs Preserve… Rhonda K is unavailable for this event, so committed volunteers are needed on both days from 10a to 6p (plus additional time for set up and break-down) to set up and break down our table, pass out and share information about PAF, make seed pots from newspapers and assist children at the event with planting seeds… All volunteers must attend training and orientation by Springs Preserve staff TBA between April 19 and 26 at Springs Preserve. We need committed volunteers to RSVP as soon as possible in order to confirm our involvement in this event. We won’t be able to participate and spread the word about PAF without you. Please let us know at your earliest convenience as we must confirm our participation (or non-participation 😦 ) with Springs Preserve very soon!

Important Announcement!!

Don’t forget… PAF will be undergoing some creative restructuring and Rhonda  K will be unavailable to run events from March 18 through April 11. Rhonda K will be taking this time to complete the documentation to file the Federal 501C3 tax-exempt application. She will return the 2nd week of April. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please note that Samantha Bivins will lead the event at CSN Cheyenne on April 6 from 10a to noon. Rhonda K will resume her regular schedule with Garden Club on April 11. 😉

Request for Donation….

Poor Bessie is feeling down… The truck we’ve been using for PAF events is no longer functioning. She needs a lot of work in order to run safely and PAF needs a good working vehicle! Please let us know if you know anyone who might be interested in buying her and also, if you have a truck you’d like to donate – ask your friends, family, coworkers, that guy at the grocery store 😉 and everyone else, too…

We’ll be selling Bessie and looking for a new truck as soon as we can. If you know of any way to help us with either of these goals, please contact us!

Thanks, Angels! 🙂

Hello Angels!! Please read to the end for an important announcement and events though the end of March! We’re looking forward to seeing you soon!

Hello, Angels! 🙂

The 2nd Annual CSN Green Tech Fair is this Saturday and we need volunteers! Rhonda will be on the panel for this event, therefore she will be unable to man the booth for large parts of the day (still hasn’t mastered being in more than one place at a time 😛 )… Please RSVP at your earliest convenience if and when you are able to join us. We need a few volunteers to staff the booth, pass out brochures and share information about PAF on Saturday from 9am to 4pm. Dress is business casual. Please be prepared – bring some water and snacks for yourself. Because of the nature of this event, no children, please… Remember, the gifts of your time, talent and treasures are greatly appreciated…

Please RSVP to Rhonda K. at rhondak@projectangelfaces.org, or reply to this invitation with the time you are available to help out, anywhere between 9 am and 4 pm. It is going to be easy, indoor, informative fun, and your help makes a difference in our success!

Call if you have any questions Rhonda K. 702.460.9261
I look forward to seeing you there, and thank you so much!!
